    Who am I?

    Dr Rabie received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Manchester in 2015. Prior to that, he received the M.Sc. degree (with Dist.) in Communication Engineering and the B.Sc. degree (with Hons.) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Manchester and University of Tripoli, respectively, securing first rank in both degrees. He is currently a Lecturer at the department of engineering at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), UK.

    His research focuses on 5G/B5G/6G systems, IoT, smart communities/cities, indoor connectivity and connectivity for remote/rural areas. Since 2019, Khaled has secured and managed over £700k of funding both as PI and CoI, from different organisations including Innovate UK, European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) and Royal Academy of Engineering. He has published over 150 papers in prestigious journals and international conferences (mostly IEEE). He has received many awards over the past few years including the Best Student Paper Award at the IEEE ISPLC (USA, 2015), the MMU Outstanding Knowledge Exchange project award of 2016 and the IEEE Access Editor of the month award for August 2019.

    Khaled serves regularly on the Technical Program Committee (TPC) of several major IEEE conferences such as GLOBECOM, ICC, VTC, etc. He is a Publicity Co-chair of IEEE MeditCom'21, Track Co-chair of CSNDSP'20, Track Co-chair of IEEE VTC-Spring'20, TCP Co-Chair of IEEE ISPLC'19, Program Chair of IEEE ISPLC'18, Track Co-chair of CSNDSP'18 and the Publicity Chair of INISCOM'18. He also serves as an Area Editor of IEEE WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS LETTERS, an Associate Editor of IEEE ACCESS, an Area Editor of PHYSICAL COMMUNICATION (Elsevier) and an Executive Editor of the EMERGING TELECOMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGIES (Wiley).

    Khaled is also a reviewer and examiner for several funding and educational organisations including the British Council, Lakehead University (Canada), Nazarbayev University (Kazahkistan), university of Johannesburg (South Africa) and Qatar University (Qatar). He is a Senior Member of IEEE and a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy.
