Dr Hong Li is Vice-Dean of Manchester Met-Hubei Joint Institute and Reader in Mechanical Engineering within the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. Hong has significant teaching experience in higher education in UK, delivering a variety of undergraduate and post-graduate courses in Mechanical Engineering and Automotive Engineering. She has had over 20 years research experience in vehicle dynamics and control, and have collaborated with researchers and industrial partners in UK, Europe and China in leading edge research projects in the areas of active suspensions for rail vehicles, wheel/rail contact mechanics, sensing and state estimation techniques. She has twice been awarded Best Journal Paper Awards for her research publications.
Dr Hong Li received a B.Sc. degree from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (China), in 1992 and M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees from Loughborough University (UK) in 1997 and 2002 respectively. She is a member of The Institution of Engineering and Technology (UK) and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK).
Manchester Met full-time employee and will support a proportion of teaching at Manchester Metropolitan Joint Institute, Hubei University.
